Dianne is a 25 year resident of Fremont. She and her husband have raised three children who have all attended and graduated from FUSD schools. She has been proud to serve as the Trustee Area 3 FUSD School Board member since 2018.
Dianne has been an active volunteer in FUSD for 18 years. Prior to her election in 2018, Dianne served on several district committees including the Curriculum and Instruction Committee, the Wellness Committee, the Health and Sex Ed Advisory Committee, and the Safety Committees at both Parkmont and Centerville. Dianne also served on the Safety Subcommittee of the PRAA where she worked to secure grants and donations to supply every FUSD school with utility control tools and critical communication equipment. Dianne volunteered for leadership positions in PTA at both the school and Council level. She has served as Parkmont PTA President, Centerville PTA President, Council Health and Safety Chair, and Council Legislative Advocacy Chair. In addition to those leadership roles, she's served as auditor, parliamentarian, and art program docent. Dianne worked as a substitute teacher in FUSD for two years prior to deciding to run for school board giving her first-hand classroom experience working with students and seeing some of the challenges our teachers and students face every day. Dianne proudly served on the FUDTA Human Rights and Equity Committee.

Dianne has completed the California School Board's Association's (CSBA's) Masters in Governance program, participated in CSBA's Legislative Action Days, regularly attends Alameda County Department of Education events and Alameda County School Board Association meetings. Dianne is serving as a regional Delegate to CSBA's Delegate Assembly and has attended and been a workshop presenter at CSBA's annual Conference.
In addition to the work she has done in FUSD, Dianne has volunteered as a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) member, a La Leche League Leader, a Sidelines support volunteer assisting women experiencing high risk pregnancies, and volunteered with the local Bayside 4H chapter. In 2009 Dianne received a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Senate and the Bay Area Earthquake Alliance Communication Award for her work in school disaster preparedness. Dianne has also received the PTA Golden Oak Award and an Honorary Service Award from Fremont Council PTA.
In her first term, Dianne quickly adapted to the realities of governing during an unexpected global pandemic. She is proud to have helped bring a new leadership team to the district, build one of the most robust distance learning programs in the State, work to amplify student voices, helped diversify FUSD's curriculum to better reflect our community, and adopt a district wide Social Emotional Learning curriculum. In her second term, Dianne pledges to work with parents, educators, administrators, support staff, and students to address our challenges and build on our successes. Every student in FUSD deserves support and educational opportunities to ensure success.
