Dianne is a 21 year resident of Fremont. She and her husband have raised three children who have all attended FUSD schools. Their oldest is a 2017 graduate of FUSD, and their younger two children currently attend high school.
She's been an active volunteer in FUSD for 14 years. Dianne has served on several district committees including the Curriculum and Instruction Committee, the Wellness Committee, the Health and Sex Ed Advisory Committee, and the Safety Committees at both Parkmont and Centerville. Dianne also served on the Safety Subcommittee of the PRAA where she worked to secure grants and donations to supply every FUSD school with utility control tools and critical communication equipment.
Dianne has volunteered for leadership positions in PTA at both the school and Council level. She has served as Parkmont PTA President, Centerville PTA President, Council Health and Safety Chair, and Council Legislative Advocacy Chair. In addition to those leadership roles, she's served as auditor, parliamentarian, and art program docent.
For the past two years, Dianne has worked as a substitute teacher in FUSD. This has given her first hand classroom experience working with students and seeing some of the challenges our teachers and students face every day. She's a proud FUDTA member and has served on the FUDTA Human Rights and Equity Committee.
In addition to the work she has done in FUSD, she have volunteered as a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) member, a La Leche League Leader, a Sidelines support volunteer assisting women experiencing high risk pregnancies, and volunteered with the local Bayside 4H chapter.
In 2009 Dianne received a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Senate and the Bay Area Earthquake Alliance Communication Award for her work in school disaster preparedness. Dianne has also received the PTA Golden Oak Award and an Honorary Service Award from Fremont Council PTA.
Dianne cares deeply about our Fremont community. As a school board trustee, she will pledge to work with parents, educators, administrators, support staff, and students to address our challenges and build on our successes. Every student in FUSD deserves support and educational opportunities to ensure success.
